Seville has launched a massive program to create affordable housing in its suburban areas, such as Dos Hermanas and Mairena del Aljarafe. By 2026, these initiatives have begun to yield tangible results, providing thousands of young families and professionals with the opportunity to buy their own homes at prices significantly below market rates. The program is based on public-private partnerships and the use of innovative modular construction methods.
The new residential complexes stand out not only for their affordability but also for their high level of energy efficiency. The houses are equipped with solar panels, rainwater harvesting systems, and ‘smart’ climate control technologies. In addition, special attention is paid to transport accessibility: new light rail lines and an expanded network of bike paths have reliably connected the suburbs to the center of Seville.
